Lowkey speaks on Grenfell Tower tragedy

UK rapper and activist Lowkey had spoken on the Grenfell Tower fire, stating that, “We should really look at people going to prison for this, because this is criminal”. He speaks about personal friends effected by the incident, including one who is missing and thought to of not survived. Our prayers go out to him and all who have been effected by this horrific tragedy. He states in the above clip, “This has to be the death knell of the Theresa May government. Neoliberalism is discredited, austerity is discredited, it doesn’t have to be this way and it is a matter of life or death”.

Below Lowkey can also be seen speaking with survivor and personal friend Cristos. In this interview they share their traumatic experience of what happened with the Grenfell Tower disaster.

UK rapper Peaky goes viral with Grenfell Tower interview

UK rapper Peaky spoke to the BBC about the shocking fire that took place in Grenfell Tower, West London. He didn’t hold back on the live broadcast stating, “I’m not so sure that was totally an accident”. As the presenter tried to cut him off and apologised for his language, he ended with the point “I’m not really f*cking with the government right now” and walked away. What we have here is a young man from the effected area speaking passionately in response to a tragic event. Accident or not, clear negligence has taken place and those responsible must be held accountable. A version of the viral video has been edited with the text ‘BBC won’t air this again’.

The Rize Up UK campaign have been working day and night to get young people engaged in politics and exercising their right to vote. With support from Tinie Tempah, Professor Green, Riz Ahmed, Akala, Maverick Sabre, Emeli Sande, Lily Allen, Doc Brown, Brian May, UB40 and many more, the campaign has managed to seriously break ground in the build up to the UK General Election 2017. The ‘We Need A Change’ video is a perfect summary to an excellent campaign, and visual presentation of the power of the people!
